It is air-conditioned, and washing machine available free of charge. There are mosquito nets installed on all the windows. One pet(dog) is welcome if sleeping in its own bed (coushin) for extra fee. Baby cot is also available on demand (extra fee). It is a non-smoker (inside) apartment. There's plenty of parking space free of charge just across the street, always available. Great for couples. Spring and Summer, when it is not too hot are great if you're planing discover surroundings with bikes. We have extra storage for your own bikes with key available.

A cozy 30m2 Studio in Marčana, Istria (Istra), Croatia is part of private house with separate entrance on ground level.

It contains of a bedroom with double bed 160x200cm for two persons, a small elementary kitchen, bathroom with shower, nothing fancy, just elementary stuff for a sleepover or short stays. The separate entrance is from the inner courtyard, and there are also a table and 2 chairs outside for taking the fresh air covered with Kiwi pergola, and this patio is shared with owners for the passing trough. It is air-conditioned, and washing machine available free of charge. There are mosquito nets installed on the windows. One pet(dog) is welcome if sleeping in its own bed (coushin) for extra fee. It is a non-smoker (inside) apartment. Great for couples. There's plenty of parking space free of charge just across the street, always available. Spring and Summer, when it is not too hot are great if you're planing discover surroundings with bikes and we have storage for your own bikes with key.
Note: it is close to the road, so there might be traffic noise.

Interaction with guests

The guest have no interaction with owners if they don't want to. We do not disturb, unless guests need assistance. Guests can call, knock on our door, or sent text message if they need anything.

The neighborhood

Marčana is not typical tourist place, so it is not ideal place for everybody expecting typical tourist shops etc... It is a rural area, a common village near Pula city. Distance from the Sea is 8km, distance from city Pula is 13km. Only 5 minutes from Pula airport (PUY) by car. Transfer can be arranged to or from the airport (if possible free of charge by me, or we can recommend a low price local transfer service).

Neighborhood is a suburb of a village - houses in a row, yet close to the store (400 meters). Quiet surroundings. The village Marčana itself has about 1000 inhabitants. There are small stores for buy food and essentials, post office, ATM machine, pharmacy, cafe bars, flower shop.

Except swimming in Sea, you can walk around in nature - there are many trails trough wood, ride a bike, or go horse riding - few kilometers away is a horse ranch offering riding and horse tracking. If you need contact, it can bee arranged.

Nearby seacoast is not so overpopulated in Summer, there are many beaches with pebbles, rocks, and a lot of hidden (harder to get) little bays accessible with goat trails. There's no official FKK beaches, or pet beaches, but there's plenty of space to go swimming with dogs. The Sea is crystal clean, and warm in Summer months.

Peninsula Istria (Istra) is great place to discover with old and small cities on hills, many happenings in Summer and beautiful nature. Vine and gourmet lovers will be pleased with local offer.

Getting around

A car is strongly advisable to move around. There are bus lines connecting Marčana to other towns but they are not very freequent.

Other things to note:

We can store your bags when you check out if you want to take day trips so you don't have to carry all of your luggage after check out and you can pick them up later.

Marčana

This is the ideal destination for all those looking for a different kind of holiday, away from the summer crowds and bustling seaside resorts. The area's 36 kilometres of unspoilt seacoast is the least urbanised coastal zone in Istria, with crystal clear sea and lush greenery in the hinterland. Marčana is mentioned for the first time in the 1243rd in the act of Pula's oath of loyalty to Venice. At that time Marčana was a part of Pula area and afterwards in 1331 it came under the authority of the Republic of Venice. Since this area was affected by an outbreak of plague on several occasions during the 15th century, Marčana and its surroundings lost all the inhabitants. Afterwards , under the Venetian rule the area was settled by the refugees running away from Greece and Dalmatia.

Istria

The National Geographic Traveler put it under the 20 best places worldwide to visit in 2012. Focus of our developments are the charming rolling hills around the famous fortress town Motovun. It is truffle heartland, hosts some of the best wineries and olive oil producers in Croatia, and has emerged as an exclusive area for country houses over the last years.
